Las Guineas RV Park & Resort ("we," "our," "the park") operates lasguineasrvpark.com and welcomes guests on-site in Lo de Marcos, Nayarit, Mexico. This privacy policy explains the personal information we collect when you use our website, request a reservation, or stay with us, and how we use and safeguard it.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the park and process your stay: full name, email, phone number, country of origin, RV license plate and length (optional), special requests, stay dates, and site selection. When you pay online, our payment processor (Stripe) handles credit-card data; we never see your full card number. We also collect basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and to improve the site.
2. How we use information
Your information is used to confirm and manage your reservation, communicate with you about your stay, issue receipts, comply with our Mexican legal and tax obligations, prevent fraud, and improve our services. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email is used solely to send news and offers; you can unsubscribe at any time. We never use your data for third-party marketing.
3. Sharing with third parties
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with: (a) Stripe for secure payment processing; (b) our transactional email provider for sending confirmations; (c) Mexican authorities when required by law. Our service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the agreed-upon service.
4. Cookies and analytics
Our site uses only essential cookies needed for core features (language preference, booking cart, admin session). To measure traffic, we use an in-house analytics system designed to respect Quebec's Loi 25 and equivalent international principles: no third-party tools (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.), no advertising trackers, no persistent tracking cookies and no personally identifiable data. We never store your IP address — it is used briefly to derive your country (country only, never city) and immediately discarded. The statistics we keep are aggregate and anonymous (page views, country, browser language, device type, average duration) and purged after 13 months at most. We respect the browser's Do Not Track header: when enabled, no measurement is performed. We also distinguish indexing bots from human visitors to keep our statistics reliable.
5. Data retention
We keep reservation and billing data for as long as Mexican law requires (typically 5 years for accounting records). General inquiry emails are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions are kept while you remain subscribed. Technical security logs are kept for up to 12 months.
6. Your rights
Under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), you have the right to access your information, correct it, request its deletion, object to certain processing, and withdraw your consent. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected] describing your request; we will respond within 20 business days.
7. Security
We protect your information with reasonable technical and organizational measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restricted to authorized staff, payments processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified), and servers hosted in secure data centers. No internet transmission is fully foolproof; in the event of an incident, we will notify you promptly as required by law.
8. Children
Our site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Reservations must be made by an adult. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. For any material change, we will notify you by email or with a prominent notice on the site.
